  7. Where is registration?

Registration will be located in the Sports Hall at Brockworth Sports Centre. Signs will be in place giving directions.

  8. Where do I park?

Parking will be available in the school car park for early birds. After 08:30 the school gates will be closed and parking will be at Brockworth Rugby Club and will be clearly signposted. DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Mill Lane can get very congested with race traffic and competitors and parked cars make the whole area dangerous, impacting on your ability to give the race your best shot.

  9. Will there be a race briefing?

There will be a final briefing given to you at at pool side 10 minutes before you start at which time you will also be given your race chip. If you have any questions before this time please ask at Registration. It is important however that you take time to read all the information that is available on the website.

  10. Is there anywhere to leave my kit whilst I am racing?

Unfortunately Brockworth Sports Centre does not have locker facilities. Kit will have to be left in your car. Kit cannot be left in the changing facilities or in Transition. Kit left in these areas may be removed.

  11. Where can I view course maps?

Details of the bike and run course will be available on our website at here.

  12. What are my responsibilities as a competitor?

As a competitor it is your responsibility to read the terms and conditions of entry. Prior to the race, ensure you understand the courses, particularly the bike route which is now two laps. As you complete your first lap you will need to proceed right at the roundabout, as you complete your second lap, to come in to transition you will need to turn sharp left at the same roundabout to access Mill Lane and Brockworth Sports Centre.

You must also ensure that your bike is roadworthy. If you are not sure what to check then go to your local bike shop who will happily do this for you.

  13. When will results be available?

Results will be available during the race from Stuweb who will be providing chip timing for the race. They will also be posted on to our website as soon as possible after the race.

  14. When will prize giving take place?

Prize giving will take place in the Sports Hall or outside, weather dependent, 15 minutes after the last competitor has finished.

  15. Who do I speak to if I have a query on the day?

Please direct any queries you have on race day to our Race Director, Rob Wood, any marshal or our race referee.

  16. Can I ride a mountain bike?

Yes as long as it is roadworthy

  17. Do I need to wear a bike helmet?

Yes. As per BTF rules for triathlon, you must have your helmet on and secured before you take your bike off the rack. Once you have completed the bike course, you must rack your bike before you touch or take your helmet off.

  18. As a novice, how long can I expect the race to last?

If this is your first triathlon then the most important thing is to have fun. That said, if you estimate your swim time to be more than 15 minutes, can maintain an average of 15 km/hr on your bike and an average pace of 6 km/hr whilst running, you can expect to be competing for up to 2 hrs 30 minutes.

  19. Could I be prevented from racing on the day for any reason?

This would only happen in exceptional circumstances if there was concern over your health or safety for any reason. Any such decision would only be made by the Race Director in consultation with the Race Referee.
